014: Things are Different Here

Hi. I'm afraid I must have gotten turned around somehow. I'm here in a really large library when I should be at the police station. And I... don't seem to be dressed quite appropriately for consulting - not that the police aren't expecting eccentricity when they finally get desperate enough to call in a psychic.

And... wow. Now that I stop to listen? This whole place seems... not quite normal.

Anyone around who can give a girl a hand?

[OOC: As 4 year old Rain talked her mother into going away to the beach when her father had to go out of town on a business trip. Thus, her mother never died, Rain was raised in a happy stable household, learned to develop her gifts with the help of her Lakota grandmother and a few others, and currently works as a psychic consultant for a number of police departments. She's not broken anymore. Oh, and yeah, her name isn't Rain.]

"I would really appreciate it if you could get those notes," Tony said, thinking of how this could really help Rain.

"Other than that, we can get something to eat."

She gave him another once-over and smiled. "I'd like that," she said. "I'll write that stuff up for you, we can have a bite to eat, and... see what happens."

Tony never thought he'd think it, but he wished he wasn't so damn attractive. Because Rain hitting on him was somewhat awkward. Mostly because she was very attractive.

"Alright, that's fair enough," he said with a smile. "Why don't you have a seat and I'll take you to a place where we can get a bite to eat."

"I get to ride in the flying car?" she said with a smile, pulling a pad of paper and a friend from her bag. "I've got to say, that would be a new one for me."

"You get to ride in a color chanting, flying car," he told her as he slid back in to the drivers seat of the car.

"And I promise, I won't do anything too crazy while flying."

Re: *Action Time*

[identity profile] livingmyths.livejournal.com 2008-08-18 07:46 pm (UTC)(link)
"Color chanting?" she asked with a grin as she began to jot down all the different things she could do. "What the heck is that?"

"And honestly, you can do any crazy thing you'd like. I think today is my 'the world's turned upside down so do whatever you want' day."

Re: *Action Time*

[identity profile] morethanasuit.livejournal.com 2008-08-18 08:20 pm (UTC)(link)
"Just what is sounds like, the car changes colors. I couldn't decide with what paint scheme to go with," he explained. "So I decided I shouldn't have to limit myself."

Raising an eyebrow a bit he grinned. "World turned upside down, huh?"

[ooc: uhh, forgive my type fail on chanting/changing?]

"I swear, this is the most surreal day..." she shook her head, laughing.

"Yeah, the world's turned upside down, flying cars that change color... time to throw caution to the winds, I think."

[ooc: Hee! No worries!]

"This is a very surreal place," he said. "But it's not too bad."

Tony buckled in his own seat belt and turned to look at her, nodding at hers. "You might want to make sure that's nice and snug."

Re: *Action Time*

[identity profile] livingmyths.livejournal.com 2008-08-18 08:51 pm (UTC)(link)
She looked over at him in some surprise, then carefully tightened her seatbelt. "I have no idea how I got here, but I'm feeling more and more pleased with whatever odd whim of fate brought me here."

"That's probably a good way to look at it," he said.

Tony pressed the gas on the car and pulled back on the wheel, the vehicle shooting straight before he spun the wheel, causing it to do a barrel roll, spinning all the way upside down and right again before coming to a stop.

Isabel gasped, clutching the seat, then laughed delightedly. "Oh, that's amazing!"

"It is pretty fun, isn't it?" he asked, giving her a wink before accelerating again, this time swerving and zipping between the buildings at high speed.

It was the most amazing ride she'd ever had - better than any roller coaster she'd ever been on.

All she could do was hang on and laugh with sheer enjoyment.

Re: *Action Time*

[identity profile] morethanasuit.livejournal.com 2008-08-19 04:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Tony gave a small smile at how much she seemed to be enjoying this. Apparently no amount of different choices could change something like that.

Finally, Tony brought the car around to out from of Café Juliet, where he and Rain had eaten not to long ago.

"Here we are, a place to get a bite to eat."

"Cafe Juliet, huh?" Isabel said with a smile. "As in Romeo and...?"

Re: *Action Time*

[identity profile] morethanasuit.livejournal.com 2008-08-19 09:31 pm (UTC)(link)
"You know?" Tony said, pausing to cock his head to the side in thought. "I don't know? I might be, I know there's a Romeo here in the City."

Re: *Action Time*

[identity profile] livingmyths.livejournal.com 2008-08-19 09:50 pm (UTC)(link)
"As long as I'm not required to take poison and die of unrequited love, we're all good," she said with a grin. "Wait. Do you mean Romeo, like the real Romeo?"

Re: *Action Time*

[identity profile] morethanasuit.livejournal.com 2008-08-20 02:26 am (UTC)(link)
"The real Romeo," he said with a nod. "Or at least, a Romeo, I think his story is slightly different than Shakespeare's. And I have yet to have anyone I take her either drink poison or stab themselves, so I think we're okay."

Re: *Action Time*

[identity profile] livingmyths.livejournal.com 2008-08-20 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
"Good to know," she said with a grin. "So what's good here? And what's the chance you can find me a place to spend the night since it certainly doesn't look like I'm going to manage the police thing today."

She knew where she'd like to spend the night, but she had some restraint at least.

Re: *Action Time*

[identity profile] morethanasuit.livejournal.com 2008-08-20 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
"They have fantastic sandwiches," Tony told her as they were seated at one of the outside tables. "And good salads as well. As for a place to stay, I know of a couple places you could spend the night, so don't worry about that."

Re: *Action Time*

[identity profile] livingmyths.livejournal.com 2008-08-20 03:19 am (UTC)(link)
"A sandwich sounds great," Isabel said cheerfully. "And a good place to stay sounds even better. Couldn't very well sleep in the library, now could I?"

Re: *Action Time*

[identity profile] morethanasuit.livejournal.com 2008-08-21 02:11 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh, I don't know," he said, giving her a bit of a knowing smile. "I think some people might not mind it too much. There's always the outdoors too, you could sleep there."

Re: *Action Time*

[identity profile] livingmyths.livejournal.com 2008-08-21 02:14 am (UTC)(link)
She laughed. "Yeah, right. If I was camping out on the rez, maybe. I mean, yeah, it's great to sleep out under the stars, but I kind of like my creature comforts."

"Or at least good company to distract me from what I'm missing."

And there was that smile again.

Re: *Action Time*

[identity profile] morethanasuit.livejournal.com 2008-08-21 09:19 am (UTC)(link)
That smile was going to be the death of Tony, because every time she gave it she looked less and less like Rain.

"Something tells me you could get any company that you wanted to," Tony said, giving her a smile of his own.
