014: Things are Different Here

Hi. I'm afraid I must have gotten turned around somehow. I'm here in a really large library when I should be at the police station. And I... don't seem to be dressed quite appropriately for consulting - not that the police aren't expecting eccentricity when they finally get desperate enough to call in a psychic.

And... wow. Now that I stop to listen? This whole place seems... not quite normal.

Anyone around who can give a girl a hand?

[OOC: As 4 year old Rain talked her mother into going away to the beach when her father had to go out of town on a business trip. Thus, her mother never died, Rain was raised in a happy stable household, learned to develop her gifts with the help of her Lakota grandmother and a few others, and currently works as a psychic consultant for a number of police departments. She's not broken anymore. Oh, and yeah, her name isn't Rain.]

It was the most amazing ride she'd ever had - better than any roller coaster she'd ever been on.

All she could do was hang on and laugh with sheer enjoyment.

Tony gave a small smile at how much she seemed to be enjoying this. Apparently no amount of different choices could change something like that.

Finally, Tony brought the car around to out from of Café Juliet, where he and Rain had eaten not to long ago.

"Here we are, a place to get a bite to eat."

"Cafe Juliet, huh?" Isabel said with a smile. "As in Romeo and...?"

"You know?" Tony said, pausing to cock his head to the side in thought. "I don't know? I might be, I know there's a Romeo here in the City."

"As long as I'm not required to take poison and die of unrequited love, we're all good," she said with a grin. "Wait. Do you mean Romeo, like the real Romeo?"

"The real Romeo," he said with a nod. "Or at least, a Romeo, I think his story is slightly different than Shakespeare's. And I have yet to have anyone I take her either drink poison or stab themselves, so I think we're okay."

"Good to know," she said with a grin. "So what's good here? And what's the chance you can find me a place to spend the night since it certainly doesn't look like I'm going to manage the police thing today."

She knew where she'd like to spend the night, but she had some restraint at least.

"They have fantastic sandwiches," Tony told her as they were seated at one of the outside tables. "And good salads as well. As for a place to stay, I know of a couple places you could spend the night, so don't worry about that."

"A sandwich sounds great," Isabel said cheerfully. "And a good place to stay sounds even better. Couldn't very well sleep in the library, now could I?"

"Oh, I don't know," he said, giving her a bit of a knowing smile. "I think some people might not mind it too much. There's always the outdoors too, you could sleep there."

She laughed. "Yeah, right. If I was camping out on the rez, maybe. I mean, yeah, it's great to sleep out under the stars, but I kind of like my creature comforts."

"Or at least good company to distract me from what I'm missing."

And there was that smile again.

That smile was going to be the death of Tony, because every time she gave it she looked less and less like Rain.

"Something tells me you could get any company that you wanted to," Tony said, giving her a smile of his own.

"Really..?" she drawled, giving him that smile again. "That sounds promising..."

Tony just chuckled a bit and shook his head at her words. This was probably the most surreal thing he had ever experienced in the entire City.

"My mother always warned me about giving pretty girls rides in flying cars," he said.

"And I'm very glad you didn't listen to her."

"I think if you turn out to be some sort of axe murderer it will be worth it anyways," Tony confessed to her.

She laughed again. "Oh, I think I can definitely make it worth your while."
