[ good thing this isn't video. He's already going purple from holding his breath ]
Oh, no. He can be friends with whomever he wishes, it's just...
[ he clears his throat ] I've been told it's tradition for guests to bring a friend. I was thinking [ hoping ] you might do me the favor of being mine.
We spoke briefly a little over a week ago and I wished to extend my apologies for not getting in touch with you sooner; the arrival of several persons from back home plus other peculiarities kept me rather distracted.
At the moment I lack the ability to speak but this will end on the 10th of March. After that point, would you be at all interested in discussing the similarities and differences of our abilities in person? If you can tolerate a conversation that will be completely telepathic on my part and can suggest somewhere that no one else will be, we could speak before then.
I look forward to hearing from you and I do hope that February has been treating you well.
I don't understand all of what you wrote. I'm not really so smart. But we can talk when you can talk again. Or we can meet at my house or the greenhouse on the roof of the Library. No one will bother us there.
[ morning of nov. 13th ]
He may be in dire straits.
Punching in the number for Rain's cell, he stared and then sweat dropped and then stared a tiny bit more before finally hitting send. ]
Um... Rain? [ voicemail or first ring pick-up, either way, this was hardly the way to ask a girl out on a date. ]
Re: [ morning of nov. 13th ]
Hello? Arthur?
[ morning of nov. 13th ]
Oh, yes. It's me, Arthur. I'm just... [ he takes a deep breath ] Do you have plans for tomorrow?

[And now her voice sounded a little worried.]
Or maybe he told me and I just didn't remember.

[ he didn't suspect anything, did he? Not that there's anything to suspect, but, well... ]

Was he not supposed to?

That's okay. Everyone gets busy.

I am good and hope you are too.
