052: Accidental Video Post
[Rain is singing very quietly as she straightens things in her house and then goes about the process of making tea, obviously making an effort not to make much noise - not that she usually does anyway.
As the tea brews she goes to the open front of the house to wave to the crows and squirrels. "Hello, ones!" she says softly.
She hesitates for a moment, clearly considering something, then goes back for her tea and a blanket, which she spreads out in the large patch of sunlight at the front of the house. She retrieves her book off the counter then settles herself on the blanket to bask in the sun like a particularly contented cat.]

Action?
There he finds her and smiles. Limping over, he settles down next to her.]
What are you reading?
Action!
It's the one Silk gave me for Christmas. He says it's the biggest book of myths and fairytales he could find!
[Rain looks at him seriously.]
How are you feeling? I didn't want to wake you. I tried to be quiet.
Action!
I'm still hurting a little. But, the medicine Anita gave me is helping.
[Mat hands the book back to her.]
I'd been sleeping long enough anyways.
Re: Action!
She nodded solemnly.]
If you need help putting it on, I can do that.
Can I make you tea or something? The water's still hot, I'd bet.
Action!
[Shifting a bit to make his leg more comfortable, he smiles at her.]
Thank you.
Re: Action!
Do you like anything in your tea? Sugar or milk or honey?
[She was walking towards the kitchen to pull down another cup and pour him tea.]
Action!
[Turning a little, he watches her go to the kitchen.]
Re: Action!
You don't drink coffee either?
[ooc: VERY rough sketch of what Rain's home (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v188/Maisfeeka/RainsHomedrawing.jpg) looks like.
Re: Action!
[Mat shrugs as he takes a deep breath of the outside air. This is much better than being stuck inside all the time.]
[ooc: Very nice!]
Re: Action!
The very best thing about my home is that it's almost just like being outside. And you can be right outside if you want!
[She turned and smiled at him.]
Are you comfortable here? I want you to be.
Re: Action!
I'm comfortable. This is a nice place and I like getting some sun.
[He shifts again to make his leg more comfortable before sipping at the tea.]
This is good.
Re: Action!
Oh! I forgot!
[She got up and hurried back into the bedroom area.]
Re: Action!
Re: Action!
Your Christmas present! [She beamed at him.] I keep forgetting to give it to you!
[When unwrapped he'd find a beautiful hand-carved wooden secret box. Inside that are 'Rain gifts' - a beautiful feather, a dried flower, a small colorful stone, a shell, small pieces of paper with carefully copied quotes from her favorite passages, etc.]
Re: Action!
Well Light. I like it already.
Re: Action!
I wasn't sure what to get for you. But I thought even if you didn't like the silly things you could still use the box for something important.
Re: Action!
I like the silly things too.
Re: Action!
[She smiled at him shyly, but there was a look of relief. He'd gotten her such a special thing, that she'd been even more nervous about this.]
Re: Action!
Re: Action!
Everything has a story! [Her voice was light and teasing.]
[She touched each item gently, telling where the feather had been found and what bird it was from and what it meant, showing him the small fossil in one of the stones and the story she'd imagined about it, explaining about how the pebble fit so well into the palm of the hand and was so smooth and oddly shaped that it made her feel calm and better just holding it. There was indeed a story for every one if he cared to ask.]
Re: Action!
[Grinning like a fool, he looked at each thing she showed him. Each story was listened to and finally he pulled out one of the quotes.]
Where did you find this one?
Re: Action!
I wonder, I wonder, why lightning bugs don't thunder, she read.]
I found that in a book about poems. Someone wrote one about a lightning bug and someone else said that and I thought, 'how funny'. And then I wondered if there shouldn't be thunder bugs, too, and I liked it so much I wanted to remember it so I put it in my journal.
Re: Action!
[He laughed.]
Re: Action!
See! Maybe in the spring we'll have to go on a thunderbug hunt!
Re: Action!
With my luck we may find some.
